Unitronic® Stage 2 ECU Performance Software is now available for the B9 Audi® S4®, S5® and SQ5® equipped with the 3.0TFSI® EA839 (CWG) engine.* With testing and validations completed, power output is increased by up to +116HP / +187LB-FT with Unitronic Stage 2 (93octane/98ron) Performance Software for a maximum of 467HP / 547LB-FT. This Performance Software is entirely compatible with our UniCONNECT+ cable, empowering Clients to tune their vehicles directly through the OBD-2 port within minutes, from the comfort of their own home or garage.
In order to support this huge increase in power, Unitronic is also pleased to announce the release of its High Performance Downpipe for the B9 3.0TFSI engine featuring a 6" GESi® UHOX 400cpsi catalyst, stainless steel construction, OEM heat shielding and direct bolt-on design.
With extensive experience and a growing catalog of Performance Hardware and Software offerings for the 2.9TFSI & 3.0TFSI EA839 engines, Unitronic Engineers recalibrated the BOSCH MG1 ECU found in the B9 S4, S5 and SQ5 with total boost regulation control, optimized ignition timing, lambda, camshaft timing and much more. With testing and validations completed, power output is dramatically increased over Stage 1 and Stage 1+ levels for a maximum gain of +116HP / +187LB-FT over stock with Unitronic Stage 2 (93octane/98ron) Software and supporting bolt-ons. Stage 2 (91octane/95ron) calibrations are available as well. Stage 1+ E85 and Stage 2 E85 calibrations will also be released shortly.
Optimized Responsiveness, Smoothness, Drivability, and Comfort
Unitronic’s ECU calibrations are engineered to improve engine response and reduce low-end lag. Ignition Timing Precisely Calibrated for Higher Octane Fuel
Engine calibration optimized to take advantage of higher fuel quality to extract maximum combustion energy. Therefore, when using a higher octane fuel, more power and better fuel efficiency will be achieved.
Optimized Maximum Output
Unitronic’s ECU Calibrators deliver the maximum power output while staying within the operational limits of the factory engine and drivetrain components. Specifically, this results in the highest engine performance without sacrificing the reliability of the engine, turbocharger, or other engine and drivetrain components.
Factory Safety Limiters Retained
OEM “fail safes” are retained within the ECU calibration. Close monitoring of all operation parameters ensures that engine operation stays within factory components limits, resulting in reliability.
Power Delivery Perfectly Optimized Throughout the Power Band
Aligned with the OEM strategy, the calibration is designed to offer a large flat torque plateau to provide a smooth and linear power band. Maximum torque output is achieved sooner and maintained longer which creates a broader torque plateau and greater area under the curve. This results in an improved acceleration and optimal engine operation.
Speed Governor Removed
Vehicle speed limiter within ECU is removed. (Subject to transmission rotational speed limit.)
Improved Fuel Efficiency
Optimized timing and injection in cruising condition allows for an improved fuel efficiency, under normalized driving conditions.

Unitronic is proud to expand upon its Performance Hardware offerings for the B9 3.0TFSI EA839 platform which now includes the all-new and highly anticipated Performance Downpipe, the popular and direct-fit Intercooler upgrade, high-flow Intake System and Turbo Inlet which all combine to help produce maximum gains, performance and reliability.
Unitronic's Performance Downpipe features OEM-style heat shielding which not only protects the engine bay from radiant heat, but also ensures catalyst temperature is reached and maintained for optimal efficiency and function. The large 6" GESi UHOX catalytic converter provides exceptional flow while greatly enhancing the exhaust note of the turbocharged 3.0TFSI V6 engine. The smooth post-cat stainless steel transitions lead into dual 4.5" T304 stainless steel tubing, terminating at the factory 3-bolt mid-pipe flanges to ensure a seamless direct bolt-on fitment. When we say it's bolt-on fitment, we stand behind our words.
In order to assure maximum performance and reliability, Unitronic highly recommends its Intercooler upgrade for all tuned B9 3.0TFSI vehicles. The graph below shows how quickly intake air temperatures can rise with the insufficient OEM intercooler. After 6 consecutive dyno runs, the Unitronic Intercooler provided significant reductions in air temperature allowing for more dense charge air to be ingested by the engine which translates to increased overall performance. Its resistance to heat soak means that the core also retains its cooling abilities, even through the most demanding conditions.
