Sebring, FL — After an impressive debut for the new Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport at Daytona, the Unitronic JDC-Miller Motorsports team is ready to take on the next challenge of the 2025 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season at Sebring International Raceway. After securing victory at Sebring last year in their Audi TCR, the team is eager to continue developing the new Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport platform in pursuit of a strong result this weekend.
Building on a Promising Start
The season opener at Daytona saw the #17 Porsche put on a strong showing, with Chris Miller and Mikey Taylor fighting through the field to secure a P7 finish in a highly competitive GS class. The race provided the team with valuable insights into the new car’s performance and areas for refinement, setting the stage for continued progress.
“All the learning we did about our new Unitronic JDC-Miller Porsche in Daytona has made me so excited to drive the car again and made the last month and a half feel particularly long! At the same time it’s been great to have the time to really analyze things and I’m really optimistic we are heading to Sebring with a great chance at a strong result," said Chris Miller. "Sebring is such a unique track and challenge with the rough and bumpy surface and variety of technical and high-speed corners. As a driver, it’s a place where you feel like you can really make a difference, which always makes me particularly excited to race there. I think we’d all like to make it two in row after winning there last year!"
Tackling the Bumps at Sebring
Known for its notoriously rough surface, Sebring International Raceway is one of the most physically demanding circuits on the IMSA calendar. The track’s unique combination of concrete and asphalt creates a grueling test for both drivers and vehicles, making chassis setup and tire management crucial to success.
“Sebring is one of the toughest tracks on the calendar, with its notoriously bumpy surface and typically warm temperatures. Add in the fact that this is only our second race with the car, plus the usual intensity of the GS field, and it’s already shaping up to be one of the most challenging races of the year," added Mikey Taylor. "But that’s exactly why we do it—and love it. The challenge is part of the fun, and I’m really looking forward to getting back in the car and working with the team. We’ve put in a lot of work since Daytona, and I hope we’ve made some solid progress!”
Chasing Another Strong Result
With the momentum from Daytona and increasing familiarity with the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, the Unitronic JDC-Miller Motorsports team is determined to fight at the front of the GS field once again. As they continue to fine-tune their setup and adapt to new challenges, the team remains focused on delivering a strong performance this weekend.
